Takashi Hara’s interest in science and education began long before his career in film. He holds a Bachelor of Agriculture from Meijo University in Japan, where he studied Agrobiological Resources and conducted research in plant physiology, while also studying environmental science, ecology, meteorology, and Earth science.

After graduating, Hara worked as an educator in Tokyo, teaching mathematics, general science, and biology to high school and pre-medical students. His experience in education continued alongside his creative career through acting and filmmaking workshops, including Acting For Mindfulness (AFM) and community arts programs with Western Sydney Council.

Hara believes that complex ideas become more accessible when science, education, and storytelling work together — an approach that has increasingly connected his backgrounds in science, filmmaking, performance, and teaching.

In 2026, Hara was accepted into the International Institute for Astronautical Sciences (IIAS) AST 101 program, marking a new chapter in his return to science and his exploration of human spaceflight.

Through this next chapter, he aims to develop his work at the intersection of science, education, research, and storytelling — exploring new ways to communicate science, inspire curiosity, and make space more accessible to wider audiences.
